As a Swedish manufacturer, we cherish nature, our surroundings and our Scandinavian heritage.
Back in 2011, it was therefore a given that the first-ever Swedish diving watch could be worn at the deepest diving waters. In close collaboration with divers from the Swedish Navy, it was designed and constructed to sustain pressure at 459 meters; equivalent to the depth of the deepest ravine in the Baltic sea - Landsort. Located 22 km from the depth, it is the very southernmost island in the magnificent Stockholm Archipelago, and a visit to this island is an excursion to a strange and wonderful miniature world of tremendous beauty, historic ambiance and an intriguing hint of mystery where the least you could imagine being is just an hour from the city of Stockholm. In light of this, it was only natural to name Sjöö Sandström’s diver’s watch after this spectacular deep ravine and spot. Since the launch of Landsort in 2011, it has become a crucial part of Sjöö Sandström’s backbone and DNA. The new model á 2022 fulfills all of its predecessor’s promises: to meet the Swedish Navy’s demands as well as delivering on exquisite style.

While staying loyal to quality and execution, the new, limited edition has a number of unique qualities, making it a stand-alone, modern timepiece with a legacy.
Not only does it please the eye esthetically, but using bronze as a material also serves in function. It is one of the oldest in the history of humankind with qualities such as durability and flexibility, and also has strong associations to the sea with a natural resistance to the corrosive action of seawater. Bronze changes its tone and coating over time where a brown, red or blue-to-green coating is a sign of natural corrosion - making each and every watch unique.
The new sapphire crystal bezel on the new Landsort effectively resists scratches and marks, and the hour hand is filled with superluminova - leaving no one wondering what the time is in dark water under the surface or in the darker hours of the night. The blue and green dial has wave patterns, inspired by the natural movement of the Baltic Sea. The old diving helmet on the case back is our way to pay tribute to all those before us who pushed the boundaries of what is possible and pushed diving to what it is today. With its 42,5 mm case, the design experience is sleeker compared to the previous model of 44,2 mm. Adding to that, a slimmer crown protection adds further elegance and wrist comfort.
Although Landsort has been designed and engineered for professional diving conditions, it’s certainly not its only area of usage. As with all of Sjöö Sandström’s watches, we aim to produce iconic, wearable pieces for you to enjoy - year after year.
